Rides

Central Oregon Velo’s goal is to have several standard group rides so you will know what to expect at each one. Our main ride has been the Nancy P’s ride, leaving at 9am on Saturdays and running for 2.5-3 hours at a conversational pace.

We’re looking to fill the following needs:

  • Conversational Weekday Ride - 15 mph pace, no dropped riders, changeable route.
  • Family Friendly Ride - under 15 mph pace, no dropped riders, appropriate route for younger or inexperienced cyclists to ride along with parent supervision.
  • Extended Mountain Bike Ride - perhaps twice a month, explore some of the lesser-known trails in Central Oregon. Carpool and shuttles needed. All day ride - conversational pace with stops, approx. 4 hours ride time.
  • Road Bike Skills Clinic - once a month, pick a group ride and offer a rider’s skills clinic.

If you’re interested in becoming a leader, or maybe you already are and want to open up your ride to more people, please email Bill at taicycling.com.

Currently Established Rides:

Prineville Training Ride each Tuesday afternoon, 1 PM. This is a training ride, NOT a hammer fest. Meet at Starbucks on the east side of town just off 3rd street (the main east - west street through town). Rides will be 2 to 3 hours in length, averaging 15 to 17 mph. Course will depend on local weather and road conditions. Ride is a go when the weather is predicted to be 40 degrees or above in Prineville. If in doubt, call or email Kevin English. For ride / weather information contact Kevin English at KevinBEnglish at gmail.com or 541-279-6576.

Off Season Rides

For the winter season we will have a weekly road group ride leaving from Nancy P’s Bakery on Saturdays at noon. The pace is conversational with no riders left behind. Run times are approx. 2.5 - 3 hours.
